PROGRAMME: Solis MMC Emergency Respite Service (ERS)

POSITION: LIVE NIGHT SOCIAL CARE WORKER & SOCIAL CARE WORKER – The
role is to work as part of an experienced staff team to provide short
term emergency respite breaks (three weeks maximum) to children aged

need of a placement while a long-term placement is being sourced. This
can be occasionally challenging work demanding resilience and a caring
demeanour.

DESCRIPTION (THE COMPANY):

Solis MMC Children’s Services was established in **Apply on the
website** and provides responsive, quality services to children who
are assessed by the HSE / Tusla as being in need. We provide a range
of services that includes disability services; emergency residential
service; long term children’s residential centres; services for
children in need of international protection; and transition service
for children aged *+ who are capable of
independent living.

JOB ROLE (NOT LIMITED TO):

* Work directly with children, engaging them in a household living
routine as well as an activity led programme which emphasises social
education and life learning skills.
* Integral to the role will be recording, administrative and
planning duties in accordance with the child’s placement plan and
placement support plan.

Applicants must have a minimum of a level 7 qualification in Social
Care or an equivalent as listed.

* Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Child and
Adolescent Psychotherapy
* Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Counselling /
Psychotherapy
* Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Addiction
Counselling
* Level 7 in Youth and Community
* Level 7 in Social Work
* Level 7 in Social Science / Social Studies
* Level 7 in Family Support
* Professional Qualification in Teaching
* Professional Qualification in Nursing Studies
* Level 7 in Disability Studies
* Level 7 in Applied Behavioural Analysis
* Level 7 in Early Years Care where centre caters for children under
* years.
* BA in Applied Policing or equivalent
* Holder of Higher Certificate in Custodial Care (Irish Prison
Service) or equivalent
* LEVEL 8 Psychology

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE

* Have a full Driver’s Licence.
* Knowledge of Child Protection issues and relevant legislation.
* Be able to work in an occasionally challenging environment.
* Have a calm, welcoming and patient attitude.
* Be flexible to work on a staff rota. .
